I Think I Can, I Think I Can!

We all know how chaotic things can be sometimes. So many changes taking place in the world. Then of course, there are the unknowns. The unknowns seem to trigger stress, anxiety and negative thinking / behavior. This is because, in the world of unknowns, we feel as though we have lost control over the situation. It’s easier than you think to get back in the drivers’ seat.

Affirmations are positive statements that you use to reprogram the subconscious mind. They destroy self-sabotaging thinking & behavior. They boot negative thinking right out the door! They encourage us to see ourselves and the world in a different light. When you repeat affirmations, you affirm your belief in the statements and the intention they serve. A steady routine can bring positive changes and transformations into your life.

You can use affirmations in any area of your life where you want to see change. Let’s say you would like to:

Stop negative thinking

Get more confidence

Excel in school or at work

Shake a bad habit

Control your anger or addiction

Take more action steps in your life

Achieve goals

Develop more compassion towards yourself and others

Affirmations can help you get there. Like I said, any situation! The key to affirmations being effective is the belief that they will work and getting yourself into a daily routine. Don’t panic! An affirmation routine doesn’t require much.

To start, repeat your affirmations ten times in the morning after you wake and ten times at night before you go to sleep. These two special times of the day put your brain in theta state. This is a state of free flow and where the conscious and subconscious meet. When we are here, we are open and take in any information without attachment or judgment.

When you are repeating your positive statement, say it in present tense. Like it has already happened. Example, “I AM” a successful business owner. Ding, ding, ding!!! Not, “I WANT TO BE” a successful business owner. Huge difference! Or “I believe in myself”, “I am enough” and “I wake up motivated”.

Say it with HEART! Pure intentions carry a lot more weight when it comes to affirmations that work. You have got to WANT and NEED this change, whatever it may be, in your life.

In my XP, affirmations helped me achieve the reality that I wanted. I ended my employment of twelve years positioned in a corporate environment and I became a meditation facilitator, reiki practitioner, crystal therapist, business owner, Instagramer, YouTuber, website builder/owner and most recently, blogger.

Keep in mind that I didn’t know anything about the things mentioned above, not one iota! until my spiritual awakening three years ago. Lots of time, money, courses, classes, retreats, study, inner work, practice, more inner work and AFFIRMATIONS later, here I am!

There were times when I really felt that I had made the wrong decision. I let doubt and fear begin to control my situation. Affirmations became a very important tool for me in regard to changing my way of thinking, in the motivation I had to keep pushing forward, and I honestly believe, in the outcomes that I have been blessed to receive.

I understand that not everyone will believe in the truth of positive affirmations though, that’s OK! When you are faced with the really hard stuff in life like the death of a loved one, the loss of a job or a failed relationship, it’s especially difficult to see any kind of light at the end of the tunnel. Let me say to you now, I have been there. I know the hurt & despair that comes with those things. I also know that with the tiniest effort, you can access a whole new belief system that can help you reduce stress, gain confidence/control and reach your fullest potential. All by implementing affirmations into your daily routine.

Believe it or not, what we think in our minds, shapes our world, shapes our reality. That is why it is critical to start thinking of ourselves, all other beings, our surroundings, and the world in a more positive light. The process might seem a bit “woo-woo” in the beginning. But with practice, each uplifting affirmation will help you see that YOU have the power to create the life you want. That each day brings more opportunity and that you ARE what you believe you are!

Key takeaways:

If we want a better world, a better life, not just for ourselves but for future generations to come, it starts with us and the quality of our thoughts.

By taking responsibility for our spiritual wisdom, we enable our natural healing capabilities.

Healing ourselves creates a ripple in the Universe that allows others in the world to be healed. This promotes positive change & transformation that will ultimately lead to peace for all beings and the evolution of our planet.

Sending LOVE & LIGHT
